To the horse, the crossunder design of this bitless nose band feels like a halter, but to the driver or rider it feels like a bridle. The noseband is attached to a bridle (driving or riding) at the cheek pieces in stead of a bit and the crossunder ropes allow the horse to be steered by a gentle nudge on the opposite side of the horse’s face. This crossunder noseband steers by pushing rather than pulling, and it does with a minimum of pressure.
